According to the Obasanjo News24, Isokpan, who holds a master’s degree in international law and diplomacy, said on the African Action Congress’ (AAC) platform in Benin City that she intends to run for governor.

The candidate pledged to serve as a direct conduit between the people and the state administration, claiming to be the answer to numerous political and socioeconomic problems facing the region.

Isokpan stated that it was past time for women to lead the state during the presentation of her manifesto, which she code-named the “Treasure Agenda,” as the previous administrations run by men had fallen short of expectations and had not brought the state to an unparalleled level.

She stated that rather than being motivated by ambition, her desire to run for office came from a supernatural calling.

She went on to say that the state was extremely lucky to have a wealth of resources that are rich in history and culture and that, while they should serve as a guide for visitors, had not yet been fully utilised.

After being pulled back for a very long time, the female candidate for governor of the state urged the people of the state to queue behind her in order to put the state on the path of growth.

“Edo State is our shared responsibility, and we must work together to restore it to its rightful place in the road of development.

“I am bringing prosperity, honesty, and integrity with me. “I will guarantee the implementation of all the policies outlined in the manifestos, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and good governance,” she declared.

Afeez Lawal, the previous party chairman, had already praised the governorship candidate for having the courage to go where others fear to tread.

In order to guarantee that a better Edo State is possible, he urged party members and Edolites to work together with her.

The Director General of her campaign organisation, Omokaro Emmanuel, asked the party faithful to consider Edith Isokpan’s aspirations as their mission.
