Eden Hazard retires his career as a professional footballer

The former Chelsea player and Belgium international Eden Hazard has declared his retirement from the game.

On Tuesday, October 10, he posted about it on his social media accounts.

More than 700 games and more than 16 years in the professional game have been played by Hazard. Additionally, he has played for teams like LOSC, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and RBFA while representing Belgium.

His thank-you message says:

“You must pay attention to your inner voice and recognise when to stop.”

“I’ve decided to call it quits as a professional football player after 16 years and more than 700 games,” the player said.

Thank you to everyone for these wonderful moments; I will miss you all. Throughout my career, I was fortunate to work with excellent management, coaches, and colleagues.

“I also want to thank the organisations I’ve represented, including LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, as well as the RBFA for my Belgian Selection.”

“I would especially like to thank my family, friends, advisors, and those who have been by my side through good and bad times.”

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all of my fans for supporting me over the years and for their encouragement wherever I have performed.

“Now is the time to enjoy my family and try new things,” the speaker said.
