Unknown gunmen have assassinated the pastor of the second Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Damakasuwa, in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Amako Maraya.
The gunmen also kidnapped the deceased man’s wife, according to the Daily Post.
The publication was informed by an elder in the Church that the shooters broke into the community on Friday night at approximately eleven o’clock.
The insider claims that “the gunmen broke into the community on Friday night, went to the pastor, shot him, and took his wife to an unidentified location.”

He went on to say that the gunmen had attempted to kidnap the pastor’s son approximately three months prior, but they were thwarted with the community’s assistance. The pastor’s son had been hurt in the process.
He added that the gunmen had not called the family again after their initial call early on Saturday morning, when they had demanded a ransom of N3 million.
He claimed that since the incident, there has been animosity in the community.
He urged the government and security services to assist in rescuing the widow, who is currently experiencing anguish.
Calls to Mansir Hassan, the acting police public relations officer, went unanswered.
