Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed optimism on Wednesday, stating that the most challenging times have passed amidst the current economic circumstances. He praised the youth for their contributions and innovative spirit in shaping the future of Nigeria, assuring that the government will create a conducive environment for their success.
Shettima made these remarks during the official launch of the National Design and Innovation Competition at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He addressed the economic situation, affirming that the worst is behind us and predicting a stabilization of the naira in the upcoming weeks and months as the administration led by President Bola Tinubu focuses on issues like food security, nutrition, and insecurity.
The Vice President highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to tackle security challenges and emphasized that the youth and creative individuals hold the key to the nation’s future. He stressed that innovation is a driving force for manufacturing and that Nigeria is ripe with potential and opportunities.
Shettima assured the government’s backing for youth aspirations and entrepreneurship, acknowledging the support of financial institutions for the creative sector. He also revealed plans to involve young innovators in the government’s $617.7 million Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) program.
