Economic difficulties lead Gov Bago to order reduced fees for students at Abdulkadir Kure Varsity

Mohammed Umaru Bago, the governor of Niger State, has granted a 50% reduction in registration fees for all students enrolled at Abdulkadir Kure University in Minna.

He clarified that the action was a component of attempts to lessen the load on parents in the wake of the fuel subsidy’s elimination.

Bago stated that the gesture intends to lessen the increasing financial challenges on parents in a statement signed by Professor Muhammad Yahaya Kuta, Pro-Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University in Minna.

“The choice would lessen the impact of the present financial difficulties on enthusiastic students and their parents, who might be bearing the costs of the elimination of fuel subsidies and financial difficulties,” he said.

According to the university, for the current 2023–2024 academic year, all students enrolled in ordinary courses at the school would receive a complete relief of a 50% decrease in the registration cost.

It also pleaded with those who had benefited from the government’s goodwill to repay it by putting greater effort into their education for the advancement of both the nation and all of humanity.
