Ebonyi: Police detain, identify 7 suspects in killing of traditional ruler
Seven individuals have been detained by the Ebonyi Police Command in connection with Mr. Igboke Ewa, the traditional ruler of Omege.
Omege is a village inside Umu-Ezekoha in the state’s Ezza North Local Government Area.
A group of men killed the village chief on February 27, 2023, in his palace.
The son, Igboke Samuel, filed an official complaint at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Achiagu, according to police public relations officer SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya.
The son described how hoodlums brutally assaulted and killed his 76-year-old father.

The spokeswoman stated that the police received a petition dated March 1 after which the complainant provided helpful information.
Seven of the ten suspects were detained during the inquiry, according to Onovwakpoyeya.
The accused are Nnabuike Emmanuel, 26, also known as Champaign; Chukwudi Aliewa, 28; and Obinna Nwampepe, 39; also known as Ezza get Boys and Nwampepe.
Others include 28-year-olds Uchenna Eze, Nwogha George, Nnamdi Paul, and Odo Kenneth.
The PRO said, “The suspects provided the Police with helpful confessional statements and revealed some of their associates who are still at large.
