Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, a former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) state leadership.

The party disclosed that intense attempts were undertaken to integrate the National Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC, and that he had consented to join.

The party claims that his images were utilised during the APC rally that was conducted in Ivo, his local government area, on Saturday for the local government chairmanship and councillorship elections.

During the event, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the party’s chairman in the state, revealed this and called Anyim an important APC stakeholder.

According to Emegha, on July 14, 2024, everyone on the planet would be aware that Anyim is an APC shareholder in the South East.

I approached him about the necessity of coming along since, in the absence of a man like him, the negotiations in the South East would not be possible. I took it personally.

“I am filled with fulfilment today as a result of seeing his name and image on an APC poster at the march. He isn’t at this rally because of some pressing matters.

“Due to his vast knowledge, I have personally and frantically tried to convince him to join us. We met in Abuja.

“He has such a lovely personality that it is impossible to include his photo in our (APC) rally programme without getting his permission. His image is permitted in our programme today since he has already attested to his APC membership.

“I am here to declare Senator Anyim Pius Anyim to be an APC member. He is a stakeholder in the APC in addition to being a member.

Emegha declared, “By the 14th of next month, you will know that he is a stakeholder in the APC throughout the South East, not just in Ebonyi State.”

Speaking at the event, Governor Francis Nwifuru asked the crowd to continue supporting the APC-led administration in Ebonyi State and praised them for coming out in large numbers. He was represented by his deputy, Princess Patricia Obila.

He gave the populace confidence that his administration would settle the local government’s boundary disputes.

Chief Emmanuel Ajah, the APC flag-bearer for the July 20 LG Polls and the local government chairman, promised to deliver more democratic dividends if re-elected to a second term in power.
