Easter Brings Hope and Victory for Nigeria, Says Anglican Bishop Aladekugbe
Rt. Rev. Williams Aladekugbe, the Bishop of Ibadan-North Anglican Diocese, expressed his belief in the hope and victory that Nigeria and the world can attain. In his Easter message, he emphasized that the ultimate hope lies in eternal life for those who have faith in Jesus Christ. Despite the prevailing challenges of materialism, violence, corruption, and faithlessness, Bishop Aladekugbe highlighted the presence of Christ’s influence and the assurance of redemption.
He acknowledged the disintegration and uncertainty that Nigeria faces, with the ease at which death occurs through acts of violence. However, he emphasized that through Christ’s resurrection, there is hope for believers. Bishop Aladekugbe emphasized that Nigeria’s strength and recovery would be determined by God.
He urged individuals to hold onto a certain hope, one that is rooted in the resurrection of Christ. He encouraged believers to share and live out the story of Christ, highlighting that Easter teaches the lesson that Jesus is a life-charger and that His resurrection signifies the vindication of righteousness.
The defeat of death and the inability to suppress truth were also emphasized, with the assurance that believers will be raised to eternal life by God through Christ’s resurrection.
The Bishop expressed his gratitude for the existence of the divine being, emphasizing the importance of this belief in shaping our optimism for the future. He highlighted that due to the presence of this higher power, we can hold onto the hope of a better tomorrow not only for our nation and the entire world but also for the everlasting eternity.
