Although he has given Paris St-Germain notice that he won’t extend his contract past 2024, Kylian Mbappe claims he is content at the club for the time being.

With an additional year option, the contract of the 24-year-old France forward expires at the conclusion of the upcoming campaign.

He claimed on Tuesday that he “will continue” at PSG for the upcoming season, but a letter from his camp to the club made it clear that this would be his final season there.

Mbappe claims that PSG “were informed on July 15, 2022” of his choice to decline the 12-month extension option.

This week, official correspondence was sent to that effect, and Mbappe stated that its “only goal was to confirm what had already been spoken about.”

But rather than take the chance of losing him for nothing in a year, PSG is willing to sell their all-time leading scorer this summer.

Mbappe referred to rumors about his desire to sign with Real Madrid as “lies” and denied any such intention.

The possibility of an extension of his contract, according to his camp, “has not been discussed since [he informed PSG last year] over the course of the year, except a fortnight ago to announce the sending of the letter,” the AFP news agency reported on Tuesday.

They added, “No potential contract extension has been mentioned.

Kylian Mbappe just informed the club that he would not be activating the extra year after publicly stating in recent weeks that he would be a PSG player next season. Mbappe has not asked to leave this summer.
