During Buhari’s visit to Katsina, protesters yelled “bamayi, bamayi” and vandalised government cars.
During President Muhammad Buhar’s visit to Katsina state on Thursday, some locals voiced their displeasure with the naira redesign policy.
Residents of Katsina protested in Kofar Kaura, Kofar Kwaya, and on Yahaya Madaki Way, claiming that the government’s economic policy is ineffective.
A bonfire was set, and some government vehicles were attacked with rocks and other objects by the protesters.
The demonstrators expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of fuel, inflation, and security.
According to an eyewitness, after the president left Kofar Kaura, some youngsters yelling “Bamayi” started to burn tyres and throw stones at security personnel, who then used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Mustapha Muhammad Boss is my name. After President Muhammadu Buhari dedicated the underpass, several unknown youths started chanting “Bamuyi,” attacking security personnel and APC-branded vehicles by throwing rocks at them and lighting their tyres on fire.
“As you can see, we opted to close our shops out of concern for safety.” Because it affects those who had nothing to do with the visit or the party, this act is wrong and terrible, he said.
However, as of the time this story was submitted, security forces had used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, and things were back to normal.
On a police/media WhatsApp platform, SP Gambo Isah, the police spokesperson in Katsina, was questioned about the incident, and he denied that a demonstration had taken place.
“There were no jeers or protests directed at the president.” People in Katsina State flocked out in large numbers to greet and celebrate the president’s visit, he said.
Baure Masari, the governor of Katsina State’s chief of staff, claimed that it was in response to the security agencies’ haughtiness toward the crowd that had gathered to meet the President.
He claimed that even after the president had left for a different site, a conflict between the audience and the security personnel had prevented them from getting to the location where the commissioning had taken place.
