The automaker claimed that Ejikeme’s actions were blatantly at odds with the principles it upheld.

Innoson Vehicles has revoked the N3 million scholarship it had given to Mmesoma Ejikeme following the end of an investigation into an accusation of results fabrication against the troubled UTME candidate.

Ejikeme claimed to have received a score of 362, which would have placed her among the top candidates for the year.

Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, the creator of the car company with headquarters in Nnewi, Anambra, announced the scholarship on May 8 to commemorate the alleged accomplishment.

But on Monday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) fiercely denied Ejikeme’s assertion, asserting that her results had been rigged. The Anambra State Government responded by forming an inquiry committee.

In an eight-page report released on Friday, the panel’s much awaited conclusions were revealed. It was revealed that Ejikeme had fabricated her score, giving herself a 362 when her true score was only 249.

The 19-year-old’s scholarship offer from Innoson Group was swiftly cancelled on Saturday in a string of tweets from the company’s Head of Corporate Communications and Affairs, Cornel Osigwe.

The automaker acknowledged that the results were extremely depressing and that Ejikeme’s actions were in stark contrast to the principles the business upheld.

According to the statement, “We have made the difficult decision to withdraw the scholarship awarded to Miss Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme in accordance with these principles and response to the confirmed findings.”

“This deed demonstrates our unwavering dedication to honesty, integrity, and merit-based rewards.”

The company called the development disappointing and stated that it had “undoubtedly caused dismay among those who stood by Miss Joy, including her school principal and other well-meaning supporters”.

The statement said, “However, it is essential to maintain the integrity of our scholarship program and the values it represents.”

Innoson added that it would continue to respect the highest ethical standards, help worthy students, and invest in the future of the education industry.

The statement continued, “We extend our gratitude to the general public, JAMB, the governor’s committee of Anambra State, and all those who have shown understanding and support during this trying period.
