Ola Aina, a defender for Nottingham Forest, will not be able to play for Nigeria in their friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique due to an injury.
Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro added Aina to the 25-man roster for both games on Monday.
Nottingham Forest, the defender’s Premier League team, has now confirmed that he is temporarily out with a muscle issue.
The 26-year-old was forced to miss Sunday’s 1-1 home match between the Reds and Brentford due to an injury.
The ex-Chelsea player’s expected return date is currently unknown.
Tuesday saw the announcement of Aina as August’s Player of the Month for Nottingham Forest.
On October 13, the Super Eagles will play the Greens of Saudi Arabia in Portimao, Portugal.
Additionally, a match against the Mozambican Mambas is scheduled for Portimao three days later.
