The Department of State Services (DSS) is rumoured to have detained Kingsley Obiora, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

His arrest was in response to claims that Godwin Emefiele, the suspended CBN governor, had mismanaged money, according to a Business Day article.

Obiora oversees economic policy as the deputy governor of the top bank.

After a continuous investigation into CBN, which is run by Godwin Emefiele, his arrest follows.

Since June 10, 2023, the day after President Bola Tinubu ousted him from power, Emefiele has been in the DSS’s custody, OBASANJO NEWS24 cites.

The investigation into the actions of the apex bank under Emefiele was given special investigator Jim Obazee by Tinubu in July.

Dr. Peter Afunanya, a DSS spokesperson, and Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, a CBN spokesperson, respectively, have not yet responded to a query from DAILY POST.
