The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended Bello Bodejo, the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, for allegedly establishing an unauthorized vigilante group in Nasarawa State. Bodejo was taken into custody on Tuesday at Miyetti Allah’s headquarters in Nasarawa State.

The DSS, accompanied by Nigerian Army personnel, reportedly conducted the operation at the organization’s office and arrested Bodejo at the entrance.

The arrest was made due to concerns that the formation of the Nomad’s Vigilante Group could potentially lead to widespread violence.

The group is not registered with any security agency and is not recognized by the federal government. Despite attempts to reach the DSS spokesperson, no response has been received regarding this incident.

The arrest of the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bodejo, has been confirmed by the National Secretary, Saleh Al-Hassan, in a telephone interview with our correspondent. However, Al-Hassan clarified that Bodejo’s arrest was unrelated to the recent establishment of the nomad’s vigilante group.

He explained that the Nigerian Army and DSS operatives were responsible for the arrest, but emphasized that the soldiers and DSS had been present during the launch of the vigilante group and were aware of its purpose.

Al-Hassan assured that once he obtains more information about the arrest, he will provide further details. In the meantime, Bodejo had previously emphasized that the volunteer vigilantes would operate within the boundaries of the country’s existing laws and encouraged them to collaborate with the Police, Army, and other security agencies to enhance security in Nasarawa State.
