The DSS verified that the detention of the adolescent female resulted in capturing the main culprit accountable for smuggling minors from adjacent regions into Kano, where they were vending them off in southern Nigeria, making it difficult to locate.
The adolescent girl disclosed during questioning that a nearby groundnut vendor had drawn her into the trafficking scheme by assuring her of no consequences. The ringleader owned up to planning Aisha’s kidnapping, indicating it was his third comparable offense in Nguru and confessing membership in an extensive syndicate dedicated to abducting children throughout different states.
The undertaking has been commended for its crucial role in addressing child trafficking and ensuring that offenders are held accountable.
