Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to let him meet his new physicians, according to his lead attorney, Mike Ozekhome.
Ozekhome submitted the request in a letter to the secret police on Monday, noting that Kanu’s former physician was abroad.
The IPOB leader was due to undergo surgery on his left ear at a later date, according to Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
He said that the new physicians, Uche Ukwuije and David Ukoha, had confirmed their availability for a “initial interface” with him.
The letter states: “The said doctors need to personally meet with our client for a formal agreement since he would be meeting them for the first time ever.
In light of the aforementioned, “we respectfully request that the herein named medical doctors be allowed access to our client for a formal engagement meeting.”
This occurs just after Kanunta, Kanu’s younger brother, declared that Ozekhome and Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s services were no longer required.
He claimed that Ozekhome blocked Kanu from receiving a medical examination from doctors sent by the family.
