A Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Darlington Nwokocha, on Monday, moved a motion for the suspension of the ministerial screening of a ministerial nominee from Delta State, Festus Keyamo.

Enyinnaya Abaribe, Nwokocha’s Abia-South Senatorial District counterpart, seconded the motion.

The motion was then put to a voice vote by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, however there was disagreement among the senators.

Instantaneously, a boisterous meeting broke out in the red chamber.

Keyamo was accused by Nwokocha of insulting the ninth National Assembly and of charging the previous Assembly with being dishonest.
