The man’s relatives and friends have praised his bravery for getting married in a different church after his church in Aba, Abia State, cancelled their wedding.
The church learned of the woman-to-be’s pregnancy a few hours before the wedding. As a result, the Assemblies of God church at 158 Ikot Ekpene road in Aba was to host the wedding between the man, Mr. Israel Kennedy, and his fiancée, Miss Rose.
Due to the strong prohibition of getting pregnant before marriage in the church’s founding documents, the board of the church was forced to call off the wedding.
Israel Kennedy and his sweetheart were also penalised and suspended by the church for violating its regulations.
The couple and their guests were saddened by the cancellation because they had already invested a significant sum of money in planning the wedding and reception.
However, with the help of his in-laws, friends, and family, Mr. Kennedy and his spouse were able to get married and join a new church in the city of Enyimba.
In accordance with its own constitution, the new church (name withheld) consented to marry the man and his wife.
These couples are married by the church once the customary ceremonies have been fulfilled.
The man and his wife are now content that they are husband and wife, according to Uche Simeon, a friend of the pair.
“Last Sunday’s humiliation has been forgotten, and they aren’t even concerned about facing more penalties from their original church.”
