Just hours after releasing his most recent album, Canadian rapper Drake announced on Friday that he is taking a hiatus from music to concentrate on his persistent stomach problems.
He admitted as much on his SiriusXM radio show Table For One, adding, “I need to focus on my health first and foremost… I probably won’t make music for a short period. I must do better.
“I’ve had the craziest stomach problems for years,” he said.
The Grammy Award-winning artist, 36, has recently put out his most recent studio album, “For All The Dogs.”
Adonis, his five-year-old son, was a featured child in the music video for the album’s newest hit, “8AM in Charlotte.”
Uncertainty surrounds whether the break will impact upcoming concert dates, like as the Friday and Saturday performances in Toronto, where lines of fans have already been spotted.
Drake said he will keep an undefined promise.
He said, “I’ve got some other things I need to take care of for some other people to whom I’ve made pledges.
He added, “I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit,” if not. “I have no idea what a tiny amount even is. Perhaps a year or even a little longer.
