Music artist Dr. Sid opens up about his decision to relocate to the United States, sharing insights into the personal and professional motivations behind his move.
Well-known Nigerian rapper Sidney Esiri, better known as Dr. Sid, has discussed his choice to move to the United States in 2023.
In an interview on the ‘No Man’s Friend’ podcast, Dr. Sid revealed that he relocated to Houston, Texas, driven by new career opportunities beyond the music industry.
He disclosed that he obtained a remote job with a New York-based company, which significantly influenced his decision to leave Nigeria.
Dr. Sid clarified that this job, combined with other influences, prompted him to settle in the U.S., where he continues to explore new opportunities while still making music.
Last year, I relocated to Houston, Texas. I secured a job with a company in New York that offered me the chance to move and work remotely from any state of my choosing.
He said, “With my family and best friend in Houston, choosing to live here was an easy decision.”
The singer stated, “For the past year and a half, I have been engaged in gaming activities such as tournaments, game development, and educational training.”
Dr. Sid began his music career as a choreographer at Trybe Records in 1999.
He saw his career soar after recording his debut album, “Turning Point,” under
Mo’ Hits Records in 2009.
