Doyin Okupe, Peter Obi’s campaign director, and ten other members of the Labour Party are expelled
Doyin Okupe, Peter Obi’s campaign director, and ten other members of the Labour Party are expelled.
Dr. Doyin Okupe, the party’s director general of the presidential campaign council, was removed from the Labour Party’s Ogun State chapter for failing to maintain his financial membership status during the previous six months, as required by the party’s charter.
He was let go along with 10 other party members in the state, according to the announcement.
This was one of the decisions made during a meeting held on Thursday at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State when they asked for the appointment of a new director general of Northern ancestry to reflect the nature and political balance of the country.
They said that to maintain order and internal democracy, their action has become necessary.
The Labour Party’s national office has not yet commented on the development as of the time of posting this story, despite PlatinumPost’s learning that the expulsion might not happen.
