Don’t Abandon Tinubu to His Non-Supporters” – Shehu Sani Urges Northern Region
Shehu Sani calls on the North to rally behind President Tinubu, emphasizing unity and responsibility, regardless of political affiliations during the 2023 elections.
Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has called on the North to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Sani expressed that they shouldn’t allow individuals who didn’t vote for the government to take control.
Meanwhile, the former lawmaker encouraged the North to back positive reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration.
Sani’s remarks, featured in a video observed by Obasanjonews, came after the North expressed resistance to Tinubu’s Tax Reforms Bill presently under review by the National Assembly.
Some claimed that the bills are aimed at the northern region, while others argue they will place an additional burden on Nigerians.
Sani claimed that no other region in the country is as blessed as the northern part.
He mentioned that the northern region of the country is exceptionally fortunate, covering approximately 65% of Nigeria’s total land area.
Of the 235 rivers in Nigeria, nearly 70 percent can be found in the northern region of the country. While some nations depend on cotton as a crucial resource, we are fortunate to have ideal conditions for growing it ourselves.

Some nations depend on sugarcane, but we are fortunate to have the ability to grow it. It’s like sitting on a gold mine. There isn’t any natural resource found globally that doesn’t exist beneath our soil here in the north.
The question is whether you continue to rely on salvation from others. Your reputation, dignity, future, and self-respect depend on your ability to sustain yourself.
“If I’m correct, this government was brought into office by the North. So why would you oppose something you’ve created?”
You shouldn’t let others who didn’t vote for this government take control. It was your voice and choice that brought them into power.
Your demands should focus on issues currently under discussion. So far, the Minister of Education is from here. Additionally, the Chief of Defence has always been appointed locally. The Minister of Commerce and Information hails from here as well, alongside our National Security Advisor and Ministers for both Agriculture and Defence.
