Donald Trump has officially taken the oath of office, becoming the 47th President of the United States in a historic inauguration ceremony.
Tech billionaires, cabinet nominees, and former presidents are attending the ceremony in the rotunda of the US Capitol. For the first time in decades, it was moved indoors due to extremely cold weather.
In his final moments as president, Joe Biden granted pardons to members of his family.
Trump plans to announce a “national emergency” at the US-Mexico border, label certain drug cartels as terrorist organizations, and eliminate government diversity programs.
However, an official states that he will not reveal tariffs on the first day.
Before Trump assumed office, Biden issued preemptive pardons for several individuals “facing potential criminal charges,” including Dr. Anthony Fauci and officers who testified about the Capitol riot.
Donald Trump is currently being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.
He pledges to “preserve, protect, and defend” the Constitution.
