Dokubo strongly advises protesters to keep hunger protests out of the Niger Delta. Learn more about his warning.

Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, a former Niger Delta freedom fighter, has firmly cautioned against attempting to extend the nationwide protest against adversity to the Niger Delta.

On Tuesday, Asari-Dokubo issued a cautionary statement during the Niger Delta Sensitization Conference for Ethnic Nationalities, Youths and Women held in Port Harcourt. The conference was themed “Come let us build together”.

He stated that the motives of those orchestrating the protest were not aligned with the concerns faced by Niger Delta’s residents.

Asari-Dokubo accused the protest organizers of solely seeking resources from the Niger Delta and labeled them as “anarchists.” He warned them to prepare for opposition.

“I, along with all my supporters and those dedicated to the advancement of the Niger Delta region, will not participate in any form of demonstration. The explanation is straightforward.”

I possess the privilege to oppose protests just as others have a right to protest. When one’s entitlement concludes, my prerogative commences.

“I oppose protests. During our brother’s time here (referring to Jonathan indirectly), there were demonstrations. Now, one of our brothers is present and they wish to protest again. This statement is factual,” he stated.
