Discussion with Chimamana rather than Datti-Ahmed – Atiku’s camp to Soyinka
The Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka has called for a debate with Labour Party presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed. Atiku Abubakar’s spokesman, Daniel Bwala, has responded.
Despite the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declaring Bola Tinubu the election’s victor, Datti stated in an interview on March 22 that the nation has no president-elect.
Because the APC candidate “has not met criteria of the law,” Tinubu “would be leading an unconstitutional administration” if sworn in, according to Datti.
But according to Bwala, Soyinka should take on Chimamanda rather than Datti as he is not a politician.
Bwala tweeted: “I’m told Prof. Soyinka asked to debate Datti. Instead, he ought to request a discussion with Chimamanda Adichie.
It will be an unfair argument because Datti is a politician and Soyinka is not.
“Yet #Soyinkadebatechimamanda shows that both Soyinka and Chimamanda debate literature and grammar.
“When he reads Chimamanda, he will comprehend the adage “none has the monopoly of knowledge. It will undoubtedly be a case of David v. Goliath.
