Diego Alonso, a former Uruguayan coach, was fired as manager of Sevilla after the La Liga team lost 3-0 against Getafe on Saturday.
After the Uruguayan team was unable to go past the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar the previous year, 48-year-old Alonso departed the Uruguay national team.

He had only won two games at Sevilla, which is currently 16th in La Liga, since taking over as coach in October. Jose Luis Mendilibar was removed.
