The governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has questioned the Defence Headquarters’ (DHQ) assertions, blaming terrorists for infiltrating the Tudun Birni hamlet and justifying the airstrike.
In the Igabi Local Government Area, the tragedy on Sunday claimed the lives of more than 120 persons and injured a number of others.
However, on Tuesday, Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, said that terrorists had infiltrated the local population to justify the airstrike.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, Governor Sani, however, referred to the comment as “careless” and insisted that such allegations be confirmed before making such choices.
However, what transpired in Tundi Buri is regrettable. But the community’s calmness stems from the head of staff accepting responsibility.
But, it is necessary to do verification before asserting that there are terrorists within the society. When I heard that statement yesterday, I thought it was really reckless.
“You would be against statements like these if you went to the hospital and saw what was going on.”
Governor Sani’s remarks come after Vice President Kashim Shettima paid the impacted community a sympathy visit on Thursday. where he announced that an investigation will be launched to prevent any more occurrences
