Due to the increasing economic difficulties and demands for a nationwide demonstration against President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, the Federal Government has requested that Nigerians be patient while they work towards resolving the issues.

On Wednesday in Abuja, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris disclosed this message after a Federal Executive Council meeting that was organized by Senator George Akume who is also the Secretary to the Government of Federation.

Idris referred to the scheduled demonstrations as a “domestic affair” and guaranteed that the administration is dedicated to settling any concerns in order to maintain calmness and consistency.

Acknowledging the legitimate concerns of citizens, he stressed that the administration’s attention is devoted to implementing solutions aimed at alleviating hardships.

Idris spoke to reporters after the private meeting and said, “Our discussion took place in the SGF’s office with several ministers present.

We delved into matters pertaining to our country and everyone is committed to working for Nigeria’s betterment. Although we didn’t convene at Council Chambers, I am confident that together we can make Nigeria a great nation once more.”

During the current economic transition, Idris stressed on the significance of having dialogues and being patient.

He guaranteed that communication with all parties concerned has been consistent and will persist while emphasizing that Nigeria is our only country; hence we must work together towards making it a better place for everyone.

Confirming queries regarding the government’s involvement with the coordinators of the proposed demonstration, Idris affirms that consistent communication has been a main focus.

Key stakeholders have had meetings with both the President and other governmental representatives. He further acknowledges that all higher-ups, encompassing ministers and even Mr. President himself are working arduously for Nigeria’s advancement in every aspect possible.

Idris acknowledged the democratic right of individuals like Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana to express opinions insisting that protests must continue.

However, he stressed on the government’s appeal for calm and reassured Nigerians that President Tinubu is diligently working towards addressing their concerns.

Among those in attendance at the meeting were ministers Nyesom Wike (FCT), Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs), Zephaniah Jisalo (Special Duties), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abubakar Bagudu (Budget and Planning), Wale Edun  (Finance) Mohammed Idris, Bello Matawalle(Defence ), David Umahi(Works) as well as numerous others including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
