Midfielder Alex Iwobi of Fulham and the Super Eagles has stated he has no regrets about selecting Nigeria over England.
Iwobi acknowledged his appreciation for England in an interview with Kiss Fresh, London, but he felt more at home in Nigeria.
He went on to say that football is like a celebration in Nigeria, emphasising how the lively environment in Nigerian stadiums makes him feel like he belongs.

In Nigeria, I genuinely felt more at home. Playing football is like being at a festival or a party. When you enter the game, you see players playing drums and trumpets, and it doesn’t even seem like a fitting match. Indeed, this is where I belong, I thought to myself.
“I respect England, of course, but I don’t regret choosing Nigeria.”
Iwobi competed for England in under-18 competitions. In October 2015, he made his senior international debut for Nigeria.
