Denrele Edun, a well-known media personality, recently shared his journey as a budding dancer in the entertainment industry.
He recounted his experiences as a backup dancer at the African Shrine, where he used to perform inside a cage. During his time as a student at the University of Lagos, he relied on cage dancing to make a living.
Denrele expressed his dedication to hustling during that period, as he balanced his studies with being a backup dancer every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the African Shrine. Additionally, he mentioned his involvement in dancing for the Iroko palm, an event organized by Dr. Ola Balogun.
Denrele’s passion for the industry is evident, as he looks forward to celebrating three decades in the extreme end industry by May 2024, marking his professional debut in 1994 on the TV soap opera Kiddies’ Station 101. He fondly recalled receiving his first payment of one hundred and fifty naira.
