Delta police arrest individuals involved in armed robbery and cult activities

Four armed robbers have been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command, and drugs and ammunition have been found.

According to a statement from the Command, agents stormed Kelubia Street in Agbor-Obi after receiving credible information. There, they arrested four suspects from the Agbor community: Ogbolu Peter “m,” Justice Nmor “m,” Precious Odilu “m,” and Queen Mba “f.”

Following an initial investigation, their premises were searched, and during that time, 10 wraps of suspected Indian hemp were discovered, along with two locally made cut-to-size guns, an AK-47 magazine loaded with five rounds of live ammunition in 7.62mm, three rounds of live ammunition in 5.56mm, two live cartridges, and two Vikings secret cult berets.

In a similar vein, after receiving information about cult activity in Ogwashiukwu, officers of the Police Crack Squad sealed off the area, detained a 36-year-old man named Chigozie John “m,” and seized a locally built cut-to-size gun that contained one live cartridge. The culprit acknowledged belonging to the fraternity Aro Bagger Confraternity.

The statement from Delta Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, said that both the recovered items and the suspects are under police custody.

The PPRO further stated that although efforts are being undertaken to apprehend additional members of the criminal group, an inquiry has been launched.
