Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, deputy president of the senate and candidate for governor of Delta State on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has filed a petition to contest the declaration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the victor of the March 18, 2023, governorship election in the State.

Obasanjonews24 can confirm that the petition was lodged and filed on Thursday.

In the lawsuit/petition, INEC—the Independent National Electoral Commission—was included.

In a discussion with our correspondent in Warri, E. Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., the Delta State APC publicity secretary, and Ima Niboro, the DG on Media & Communication to the APC Governorship Campaign Council, both verified the claim.

The couple has not yet given specifics of Omo-requests Agege’s in the suit to the gubernatorial election tribunal.

Meanwhile, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) candidate for governor, filed a 79-page lawsuit before the governorship election tribunal disputing the win of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, according to Obasanjonews24.
