He mentioned, however, that the Delta State Government will provide compensation to those affected and undertake repairs in the damaged area.
“His Excellency expresses his sympathy to the entire Ika community, particularly the victims and their families,” he stated.
Rest assured that the government is fully prepared to do whatever it takes to assist those who are still in the hospital and enduring pain.
Onyeme, accompanied by a team of government officials, stated, “We will examine the physical infrastructure and assess the extent of damage to understand how Delta State’s government can help mitigate the explosion’s negative impact on these business owners.”
During a visit to the scene of the Agbor tanker explosion, Delta Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme was present.
He expressed gratitude to the public and emergency responders for their efforts in extinguishing the blaze.
The deputy governor also visited the family of Deborah Adomgbor, one of the explosion victims, to offer condolences for the tragic inferno that has left the community in shock.
“Rather Painful”
“We are deeply saddened that this occurred, especially during the New Year. It is truly distressing; an accident,” he said.
“The negative impacts will be reduced for those who are living.”
He stated that a team of experts would evaluate the situation and report back to the Delta State Government.
