Those defending President Bola Tinubu over the certificate scandal have come under fire from Dele Momodu, a well-known journalist and the campaign spokesperson for former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Recall that Tinubu is charged with falsifying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) using his Chicago State University diploma.
After a US magistrate ordered CSU to deliver the certificate to Atiku, the camps of Tinubu and Atiku have been at odds over the issue ever since it became public knowledge.
Momodu claimed in a video that he could not condone forgery and chastised people who begged him to back Tinubu since they were buddies.

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former aviation minister, has not defended Tinubu, according to the publisher of Ovation Magazine, who claimed that even attorneys are aware of how challenging it is to defend forgeries.
“Stop surrounding yourself with opportunistic sycophants. You can get advice from more intelligent people in Nigeria. Find them yourself. They’re there, he declared.
“No one can excuse forgery, not one! Considering that, I’m confident that individuals like Fani-Kayode are aware. They all remain silent at this time since they are unable to defend it.
The president must apologise, Momodu continued, and Nigerians must decide whether or not to accept it.
Why not simply apologies and move on? That apologies may not be accepted, as I already stated. You are disrespecting us; at least start someplace.
And you permit these youngsters, who are only there to collect peanuts, to defame everyone on social media? A man who has the guts to apologise will have my support, he continued.
