Nigeria’s Defence Minister expresses confidence that the country is close to eradicating banditry, with security operations intensifying.
Defense Minister Abubakar Badaru has announced that the country is approaching the end of banditry.
He called upon the troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces to overcome the nation’s adversaries.
The minister announced this on Monday during the commissioning of two more ATAK-129 Helicopters that were inducted into Operation Fansan Yamma Sector 2 at the Nigerian Air Force’s Airport Wing in Katsina State.
With the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, by his side, the minister explained that the two additional helicopters have advantages over other fighter jets to ensure no enemy evades justice. They were deployed specifically to defeat bandits and other criminal elements undermining peace, stability, and prosperity in the Northwest Region.

Badaru praised the troops for their bravery, dedication, commitment, and personal sacrifice in the ongoing efforts to secure Nigeria’s future. He believes these endeavors are already producing positive outcomes.
He mentioned that significant positive outcomes have been observed, with farmers returning to their farms, children resuming school, businesses expanding, and ordinary Nigerians able to sleep peacefully.
