The dean of student affairs at Lagos State University, or LASU, Ojo, Professor Tajudeen Olumoko, has been dismissed.
His firing stemmed from an article published on Monday by an online news source (not Platinumpost).
The article claimed that genuine certificates from Lagos State University were being sold by a credential racketeering group for N2–N3 million, depending on how difficult the programme was.

In the meanwhile, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, a senior lecturer in the Department of Political Science, has been designated as the acting DSA.
Our correspondent received confirmation of the removal from an anonymous university insider, who stated, “Yes, it is true, Abatan has taken over as DSA and Olumoko has been removed.” This occurred on Tuesday of last week.
When asked about the school’s response to Prof. Olumoko’s removal, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations at LASU, responded, “I can’t say if he has been removed or not.” I haven’t arrived at work yet. Thus, as of right now, I know nothing.
Remember that the Lagos State House of Assembly announced on Tuesday that it would be inviting the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, the Senate of the tertiary institution, and other senior staff members due to recent accusations of extortion and certificate racketeering made against the school.
