Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known as D’banj, is a well-known musician from Nigeria. He has distanced himself from any provocative remarks that would have implied that he was siding with one of his coworkers in their argument with Peter Okoye or Seun Kuti.
Following the debate between Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, a well-known Nigerian singer and internet personality, regarding their support for presidential contenders in the next general elections, this message was released.
In a statement signed by his attorney Pelumi Olajengbesi and provided to Obasanjonews24 on Sunday, D’banj advised the public to ignore what he called the “mischief” of a publication that had been maliciously promoted to attract readers to gossip blogs and incite a false dispute between him and his highly regarded professional colleagues.
The statement reads: “This is to inform the public that Mr. Oladapo Daniel (D’Banj) never made any disparaging or disrespectful statements towards anyone, especially inside the entertainment industry, nor has he directed the release of any such material on his behalf.
The musician said that they needed to continue being one large family in the business while expressing amazement over the bogus publication that was ascribed to him. Elections will take place even though political ideas may differ and be expressed in vehement ways.
