Even though there have been demonstrations in some areas of the nation, the parade on Thursday is an attempt to further demand justice for the late artist.

David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, Falz, and Zlatan Ibile, three Nigerian singers, have joined the candlelight march in Lagos’ Victoria Island neighbourhood in memory of the late Afrobeats musician Mohbad.

Ilerioluwa Aloba, 27, passed away in Lagos under questionable circumstances.

Nigerians have been demanding a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of his passing ever since he passed away.

Even though there have been demonstrations in some areas of the nation, the parade on Thursday is an attempt to further demand justice for the late artist.

Around 7:18 o’clock, the parade began as hundreds of young people arrived to honour the gifted musician.

In the UK’s Peckham neighbourhood, Peckham Square is hosting a related event. In videos that went popular on social media, participants could be heard singing the late rapper’s songs.

The procession occurs immediately after the rapper’s body was exhumed and an autopsy on the remains was finished by Lagos State police.

“The autopsy is complete. Awaiting outcome,” Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos Police Command, said late on Thursday on his X account.

The Department of State Services (DSS) was requested to participate in the investigation by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who had also requested that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun conduct a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s death.

Senator Elisha Abbo visited the singer’s family in the Lekki district of Lagos State as part of the Senate’s involvement in the situation. He told them that the government would do everything in its power to see that justice was served.
