Nigerian music star Davido has been selected to feature on King Charles III’s Commonwealth Music Playlist, showcasing his global influence and Afrobeats dominance.
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, widely recognized by his stage name Davido, has been included as one of the featured artists on King Charles III’s music playlist.
The monarch revealed his diverse musical preferences in a new Apple Music show, “The King’s Music Room,” which was recorded in his office at Buckingham Palace.
The playlist covers disco, reggae, and Afrobeats genres and showcases artists from around the Commonwealth, such as Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido, and Raye.
The show is scheduled to broadcast next Monday in celebration of Commonwealth Day.
The King, serving as the Head of the Commonwealth, referred to the playlist as his life’s soundtrack.
“Music has always been incredibly important to me throughout my life, and I know it holds the same significance for many others,” said Charles III.
He said, “This is what I especially wanted to share—songs that have brought me joy.”
