Davido reveals the ways he handled the painful losses of loved ones, giving a glimpse into his emotional journey through grief.
Renowned Nigerian artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared his approach to coping with the pain of losing loved ones.
The singer is all too familiar with grief, having lost his mother, Mrs. Victoria Imade Adeleke when he was just 11 years old and more recently experiencing the tragic loss of his 3-year-old son Ifeanyi Adeleke.
In addition to these profound personal losses, he has also mourned the deaths of several close associates—Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW—and his personal photographer Fortune in quick succession.

In a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York, Davido shared that his faith has been the driving force keeping him going amid life’s tragedies.
“I’ve experienced significant loss in my life, starting with losing my mum when I was just eleven. Despite it all, I remain resilient and even created a song titled ‘Stand Strong.'”
“I believe that my strength and, of course, my faith have kept me going,” he said.
Davido also clarified some misunderstandings about himself.
“Sometimes, people perceive me as unapproachable. Others also mistakenly believe that I am too accessible.”
“I grew up in a large family, so I’ve always been surrounded by people. My talent and success are blessings from God,” he explained.
