Davido Responds to Ubi Franklin’s $5,000 Debt Dispute with Spyro
Davido has weighed in on the ongoing $5,000 debt dispute between Ubi Franklin and Spyro, offering his thoughts on the matter in a recent statement.
Singer Davido has responded to allegations from fellow artist Spyro, who claims that his associate Ubi Franklin used Davido’s name in a scam against him.
In a recent interview, Spyro claimed that Franklin misled him into performing at a birthday party in Ghana by pretending it was a request from Davido.
He alleged that Franklin did not pay him after the event, even though they had agreed on a fee of $5,000 for his performance.
In response to Spyro’s allegations, Franklin asserted that he withheld the money because the singer owed him some as well.
The music executive stated that Spyro was expected to pay him 10 percent for assisting with his recent car purchase.
He stated that he withheld the $5,000 as part of his compensation from the car transaction, emphasizing that the singer still owes him N2 million.
The accusation and subsequent counter-accusation sparked varied responses, with Davido also facing criticism.
In response, Davido issued a straightforward apology for his name being associated with the saga.
Davido reposted a video in which Ubi Franklin made his counter-accusation through an Instastory, and added the caption, “Please, I’m sorry.”
