A Better Time, his third studio album, cost David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, $2 million (about 1 billion naira).
During one of his media trips for his new album “Timeless” in the US, Davido made this revelation.
The boss of the 30 Billion Gang said during an interview on the Ebro in the Morning Program on Hot 97FM in New York that the sum included features, videos, and promos.
He said that despite investing just $300,000 in his most recent record, “Timeless,” he had already realised a greater return than he did with his previous release.
He remarked, “I’ll tell you, I probably spent $2 million on my previous record. It covers it everything. You understand what I mean?
“For this album, Timeless, I haven’t even spent $300,000. And in just three days, I’ve already produced more. It only demonstrates to me how far African music has progressed.
A Better Time, Davido’s third studio album, was released in 2020 and included American superstars Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and Summer Walker as special guests.
