Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a distinguished statesman and prominent figure in the business world, has generously given N1.5 billion to aid those who have been affected by the destructive flood that recently struck various areas of Maiduguri — Borno State’s capital city.
On Tuesday, the philanthropist who is 96 years old took a delegation from Kano to the Government House in Maiduguri himself to offer his condolences.
While visiting, Dantata conveyed his sadness regarding the devastating impact of the flood on individuals and infrastructure. He offered sincere condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum as well as to Borno State’s citizens and administration.

Additionally, he implored Nigeria’s upper class and political figures to ponder over their conduct while industry and exhorted them to have reverence for Allah in all of their transactions. He expressed sorrow concerning the declining state of the economy.
Governor Zulum conveyed his profound appreciation for the compassionate deed and recognized the contribution as a significant representation of hope and unity amidst difficult circumstances.
Zulum expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the people of Borno for the 96-year-old’s act of kindness in visiting them. He announced that Baba has generously donated N1.5 billion to aid those affected by the floods, and prayed that Allah would bless him with Aljannah as a reward. Zulum concluded by saying “Mu gode” (thank you), Baba.
Following in the footsteps of his nephew Dantata, Alhaji Aliko Dangote also gave a donation of N1 billion towards aiding flood victims. These benevolent acts from such distinguished individuals have provided comfort and motivation to those impacted by this calamity.
