Daniel Bwala: Governors Badaru and Matawalle May Need to Go Following Bello Turji Video Release

Political analyst Daniel Bwala suggests that Governors Badaru and Matawalle may need to resign in response to the recent video release involving Bello Turji, indicating possible governance failures.

It has been suggested by Daniel Bwala, a former aide to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, that the current Ministers of Defence, Mohammed Badaru and Bello Matawalle (State), could be dismissed from their positions in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

If the perceived lack of cooperation between the Air Force and Army persists, Bwala stated that this would be expected.

On Sunday, Bwala expressed his discontent on his X profile by highlighting how Nigeria is currently witnessing a scenario where minor mistakes lead to unorganized criminals gaining access to the country’s armored vehicles and ammunition.

Bwala warned that if the apparent lack of collaboration between the air force and army persists, resulting in amateurish mistakes leading to unorganized insurgents stealing our military equipment, then it might be necessary for both Defense ministers to be dismissed without any emotional attachment.

A video surfaced in which Bello Turji, a jubilant leader of terrorism, and his armed group rejoiced over their “success” against the Nigerian military by setting fire to two Mines Resistant Armour Personnel (MRAP) vehicles that were trapped in mud.

During an operation in Nigeria’s North-western region of Zamfara, the soldiers left behind their vehicles. The state is currently facing trouble and instability.
