The Dangote Refinery is making moves to import crude oil from two key African nations. Explore the details and significance of this development.

Amid a supply challenge in Nigeria, the Dangote Refinery has announced that it is looking to import crude oil from Libya and Angola.

In an interview with Reuters on Sunday, Devakumar Edwin revealed that he is the Vice President of Dangote Industry Limited (DIL).

Apart from Libya and Angola, Edwin stated that the refinery producing 650,000 barrels per day will also seek crude oil from other African countries to enhance its production capacity.

Libya is currently under discussion regarding the import of crude.

Edwin informed Reuters that they would also be engaging in conversations with Angola and several other African nations.

The firm had requested crude oil from the United States and Brazil before this development occurred.

It should be remembered that the Dangote refinery was recently a major topic in Nigeria’s media after Farouk Ahmed, CEO of Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, made comments suggesting the inferiority of its products.

Ahmed’s has elicited varied responses from the general public.
