CSU: Tinubu ought to have spared Nigeria’s reputation- Ezekwesili
After Chicago State University published President Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials, the former minister of education Oby Ezekwesili criticised him.
By willingly asking CSU to publish his academic credentials, Tinubu may have spared Nigeria from embarrassment, according to Ezekwesili.
Such would have been more admirable and less upsetting, she said.
The former minister bemoaned Nigerian authorities’ dislike of transparency in a post on X.
Ezekwesili stated: “How much simpler it would have been for Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to have immediately and willingly asked the institution to publicise his academic qualifications, thus saving the nation and people the embarrassment of this Chicago State University -CSU court dispute!
How challenging might it have been?
How much less upsetting for Nigerians would such excellent revelation to settle all questions have been.
“Like most Nigerians, I find it incredibly embarrassing to answer insulting questions from outsiders about this issue that goes to the core of our National Integrity.
“Our public leaders of a particular type dislike transparency, yet it is a preventative measure against mishaps like this one.
“As Citizens, our work is cut out for us to adamantly demand a root and branch reform of the entire Electoral @inecnigeria and Judicial Systems @njcNig at the conclusion of the 2023 electoral process that follows the judgement by the Nigerian Supreme Court @SupremeCourtNg.”
