The Reps Committee has made it clear that they will act decisively against those involved in crude oil theft, ensuring legal action.
A firm caution has been given by the House of Representatives Special Committee on Crude Oil Thefts that anyone found tampering with the nation’s oil resources will be subject to severe legal consequences.
In a statement signed by him, Alhaji Ado Alhassan Doguwa – the committee’s chairman, expressed that it is not acceptable for Tinubu and the government led by APC to be stuck in worldwide borrowing due to substantial losses during oil and gas production.

He observed that the regrettable occurrence is mainly triggered by unrest among young people and “unacceptable destruction of vital infrastructures in the creeks, caused by vandals and criminals. Such actions must come to an end.”
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, mandated Doguwa’s committee to investigate both the immediate and remote reasons behind these issues in the oil and gas sector. This was hinted at by Doguwa.
He stated that the committee is determined to save the current Tinubu-led administration from these lamentable incidents in oil-producing regions, promising that they will ensure justice by holding responsible parties and their political allies accountable.
