Bassey Otu, the All Progressives Congress’ candidate for governor in Cross River State, has won 12 out of the 15 local government areas’ results so far, according to information released by the LGA collation officers Friday night.
In three local government districts, he defeated Sandy Onor, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate and his main competitor.
Results from the final three local government areas, Obanliku, Boki, and Akamkpa, were anticipated because the collection process had been put on hold until Monday (today).

Bassey was victorious in 12 local government elections, including those in Yala, Calabar Municipal, Calabar South, Obudu, Yakurr, Akpabuyo, Biase, Etung, Odukpani, Bakassi, Obubra, and Abi.
The PDP candidate won the three local government districts of Ikom, Ogoja, and Bekwarra.
Cross River State is divided into 18 local government units.
At the Independent National Electoral Commission state offices in Calabar, Prof. Teddy Adias, the Returning Officer for the Cross River State’s governorship election, presided over proceedings.
