Critics of Tinubu Are Enemies of Nigeria’ – Umahi
Governor David Umahi has stated that those criticizing President Tinubu’s leadership are undermining the progress of Nigeria, calling them enemies of the nation.
Engr. David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has asserted that critics of President Bola Tinubu’s reform are motivated by jealousy and should be regarded as adversaries of Nigeria.
He stated this while reassuring that President Tinubu’s ongoing reform efforts will soon positively transform the economy.
During an investigative public hearing by the Senate Committee on Works in Abuja on Friday, Umahi mentioned that everyone leading different sectors of the economy understands the reform and is actively working towards achieving it.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the Lagos–Calabar coastal project, Umahi stated that the criticism stems from “envy and jealousy.”
For the past 25 years, since his time as a governor, Mr. President has dreamed of improving Nigeria. Now that he has been given the opportunity to serve the country and realize this dream, he is committed to delivering results.
“He mentioned that it’s uncommon for a president to choose to carry on with all of their predecessor’s initiatives.”
He believed Tinubu was positively transforming the nation and noted that critics doubted the President could achieve this so quickly after taking office.
Umahi asserted that once people let go of their suspicious nature and fully understand the coastal road project, they will recognize it as a catalyst for growth in every state across the country.
He elaborated that the road was diverted at 16 kilometers due to the African communication cable originating from the ocean, but it was reconnected at kilometer 26 to prevent past issues.
