Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in Portugal’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, continuing his significant role in the national team.

Despite his ineffective performance at Euro 2024, Cristiano Ronaldo has still been included in Portugal’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Scotland.

Despite his sixth appearance at the European Championship and Portugal’s exit in the quarterfinals, the 39-year-old still has support from coach Roberto Martinez despite not scoring.

Ronaldo stated in a recent interview with Portuguese TV that he intends to keep his resignation from the national team a secret until it happens, adding that for now his priority is providing assistance to Selecao.

With four goals in as many games for Saudi team Al Nassr, Ronaldo has kicked off the new season with a bang and is poised to maintain his position as Portugal’s main striker while Goncalo Ramos of Paris Saint-Germain recovers from an ankle injury.

Pepe, the experienced defender who recently retired from football at 41 years old, has paved way for future prospects like Geovany Quenda. The Sporting Lisbon winger, aged just 17 years old, received a call-up from Martinez on Friday.
